According to the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center – Institute of Geophysics, from November 30th to the present, 13 earthquakes have occurred in the Kon Plông and Nam Trà My districts, including 6 on November 30th; 3 on December 1st and 4 on December 2nd. Of these, 2 earthquakes on December 2nd occurred in Nam Trà My district, and the remaining 11 occurred in Kon Plông district.

Previously, as reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, on the afternoon and evening of November 30th, six earthquakes occurred consecutively in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province (bordering Nam Tra My district). The first two earthquakes occurred at 4:42 PM and 5:12 PM, with magnitudes of 4 and 3.8 on the Richter scale, respectively. The four subsequent earthquakes were smaller.

Many residents in Nam Tra My district reported feeling 3-4 strong tremors, causing many to panic and flee their homes.

Notably, in Tu Hon village, the earthquake caused tremors that sent large rocks rolling down from the summit of Ngoc Mong mountain to an area near residential houses, approximately 30 to 50 meters away. At the scene, some rocks weighing tons are precariously perched on high cliffs or caught on tree roots during the landslide, posing a risk of further descent and endangering 17 households with 69 people and the kindergarten in Tu Hon village.
