Quang Nam completes and effectively exploits industrial parks and clusters

Issue many practical policies

Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee planned and established a network of industrial clusters in the province in 2003. Thanks to the establishment of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and industrial zones and clusters in the area, Quang Nam province has attracted investment and strongly developed industry in the more than twenty-five years since the province was re-established.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 13th Central Highlands - Central Region Industry and Trade Conference in 2023, Mr. Dang Ba Du - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Nam province - said that regarding industrial development policies, Quang Nam province has issued many policies that are close to industrial production and business activities, with some outstanding policies that have brought high efficiency.

Quang Nam province has completed and effectively exploited industrial parks and clusters; developed transport infrastructure to meet industrial development needs.

The development of industrial parks has been directed with attention and many solutions have been actively implemented, such as: Building a project to adjust the general planning of Chu Lai Open Economic Zone; organizing and submitting for approval 01 zoning plan and 2 detailed planning projects; researching and developing criteria for Ecological Industrial Parks; proposing to build an Industrial Park according to the Ecological Industrial Park model...

Regarding industrial clusters, the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Nam province said that in the past, the province has issued and implemented many mechanisms and policies on industrial clusters such as: approving the planning for industrial cluster development; issuing the Program to support investment in technical infrastructure of industrial clusters and Regulations on supporting investment in technical infrastructure of industrial clusters, and Regulations on management of industrial clusters.

Regarding the development of transport infrastructure to meet the needs of industrial development, the province has directed and proposed contents on planning, plans and investment promotion for road development, development of logistics infrastructure, especially key transport routes connecting industrial parks, industrial clusters, international border gates, etc.

Developing key industries

In addition, the Director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade also added more information about developing key and key industries; developing small-scale industries.

The province is very interested in, focusing on directing, promulgating and implementing plans and activities to develop industries such as: Issuing plans for economical and efficient use of energy; promulgating procedures, processes and time to access electricity; promulgating plans for developing biological and environmental industries; proposing and developing a pilot project on mechanisms to encourage cooperation and production linkage in clusters of supporting industries and mechanical industries...

Quang Nam focuses on implementing solutions to develop key and spearhead industries according to the proposed programs and plans. Up to now, some initial results have been achieved such as: Continuing to promote investment attraction in the industrial sector. Up to now, the Automobile Mechanical Industrial Park and the Textile Industrial Park have been formed.

"Traditional handicrafts are promoted through promoting industrial promotion activities, awarding artisans, skilled workers, and those who have contributed to bringing the profession to the village, voting for typical rural industrial products, and organizing the implementation of the One Commune One Product Program" - Mr. Dang Ba Du said.
