According to the latest information, Quang Nam Club will soon send an official dispatch to Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) regarding the decision to merge with Da Nang Club.
Notably, the Quang Nam team did not transfer their participation in the tournament, causing the V-League 2025/26 to temporarily have only 13 teams. This forced VPF to consider the option of promoting a team from the First Division to replace them to ensure the number and structure of the tournament.

Binh Phuoc FC, as the runner-up of the First Division in the 2024/25 season, is currently the most promising name for this special promotion spot. If approved, this will be the first time in history that the Southeast team, with the number 1 star Cong Phuong in the squad, will compete in the V-League.
Binh Phuoc's ambition is clearly shown through the recruitment of a series of experienced stars and former close teammates of Cong Phuong at HAGL, such as Luong Xuan Truong, Tran Minh Vuong, Le Van Son as well as the appointment of coach Nguyen Viet Thang.
Meanwhile, the decision to merge Quang Nam Club into Da Nang was the result of a turbulent period after the historic V-League championship in 2017. Financial difficulties and personnel issues made it impossible for the team to maintain stability, despite efforts to return to the V-League after being relegated in 2020.
In addition to Quang Nam, according to many sources, some teams in the First Division such as Khanh Hoa and Long An are also on the brink of dissolution.
