Quang Ninh: More than 7,500 people in aquaculture areas evacuated to safety

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on July 21, the center of the storm was located at approximately 21.2 degrees North latitude; 109.6 degrees East longitude; approximately 190 km east of Quang Ninh . The strongest wind was level 9, gusting to level 11. The storm moved west-southwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h.

According to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Quang Ninh province, the province has 7,708 aquaculture facilities, of which 800 offshore aquaculture facilities have been informed about the storm to deploy response solutions to ensure safety. The review and evacuation of people in aquaculture areas to shore (priority given to women, the elderly, and children) has been implemented since noon on July 19.

By 9:00 a.m. this morning (July 21), the entire province had brought 7,518 people safely ashore and was continuing to review and complete this work by noon today (July 21).

In addition, the whole province has 2,078 houses at risk of flooding, landslides... and are not safe when strong storms affect. The People's Committees of the localities have informed and made plans to evacuate when there is a risk and notified households to proactively implement. Typically, on July 20, Hong Gai ward relocated 25 households at the 5-storey Bach Long apartment building; 35 households at apartment blocks A, C of the hospital collective... These are all old apartment buildings with level D danger. Ha Lam ward is expected to complete the relocation of all 52 households living in dangerous areas before 2:00 p.m. on July 21...

Previously, on July 20, localities also organized to bring about 14,000 tourists from the island routes safely to shore. By 5 p.m. on July 20, there were only 47 tourists who wanted to stay on the islands of Co To Special Zone and Van Don Special Zone. Localities have directed tourism businesses to ensure the living needs and safety of tourists.
