This is an important move to increase safety for tourists and vehicles operating in Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay, especially after the capsize of the ship Vinh Xanh 58 on July 19.
According to the Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, the province will allocate resources to invest and operate the project, with the main goal being to ensure safety for tourism and contribute to the socio -economic development of the locality, with a high concentration in key coastal areas.
At the meeting, representatives of the Institute of Earth Sciences proposed deploying a high-resolution monitoring and forecasting system for Quang Ninh, using modern equipment, similar to the model that has been effectively deployed in Hanoi.
On that basis, Quang Ninh province and the Institute of Earth Sciences discussed and evaluated the effectiveness, as well as agreed to organize an appraisal council on technology, investment methods, maintenance and management of the system operation... in accordance with reality.
According to Chairman Pham Duc An, the province has assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ninh to carry out the project development steps and advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue investment policies, with a spirit of speed, timeliness and accuracy.
