In recent days, the trend of "turning every rooftop into a national flag" has been sweeping across the country. Many people in Vietnam, wishing to spread their love for their homeland, have painted images of the red flag with a yellow star on their rooftops and windows, and drawn maps of Vietnam on their walls...

Painting the national flag not only beautifies the house but also expresses and spreads patriotism and national pride to everyone around, especially the younger generation.
Responding to the trend of drawing and painting the national flag to celebrate Independence Day, Ms. Le Thi Oanh Kieu – owner of Calla Spa on Quang Trung Street, Viet Tri City – painted a map of Vietnam on the wall of her shop and recorded a video clip to share on Facebook. These beautiful images were widely shared by Ms. Kieu, attracting thousands of views, shares, and positive comments.

This year, on the occasion of Vietnam's National Day on September 2nd, the trend of arranging blood donation certificates into the shape of the Vietnamese flag (red flag with a yellow star) was also embraced by many young people. Nguyen Viet Anh (1983), a lecturer at the Provincial Political School, arranged 45 of his blood and platelet donation certificates into the national flag.

While casually browsing social media, Viet Anh came across a trend of using blood donation certificates to create the national flag. Having actively participated in blood donation programs for the past 10 years, he carefully studied the arrangement and used his 45 blood donation certificates to form the national flag.
On average, he donates blood and platelets 2-3 times a year. From 2020 to the present, there have been years when he donated 8-9 times a year. In 2023, he was one of 100 outstanding voluntary blood donors honored by the National Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation.

He added that the red color of the national flag symbolizes the color of revolution, the color of the blood shed by generations of ancestors. Even more coincidentally and meaningfully, this national flag was made from voluntary blood donation certificates.
Not only Viet Anh, but many young people in the province are responding to the "trend" of arranging voluntary blood donation certificates into the shape of the national flag to express national pride, in anticipation of the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).

In keeping with the celebratory atmosphere leading up to National Day on September 2nd, people across the country are expressing their patriotism through interesting and unique trend-following activities, showcasing their individual creativity. Some of these trends are simple enough for everyone, from the elderly to young children, to participate in.

With just a phone or any electronic device in hand, people can join the "National Flag in My Eyes" trend. The national flag shimmers in the eyes; upon gazing at these simple yet profoundly sacred and meaningful images, two lines from the poem "From Then On" by poet Tố Hữu immediately resonate in everyone's mind: "From then on, summer sunshine burst forth within me / The sun of truth shone through my heart."
Without being elaborate or ornate, the Vietnamese people are expressing their patriotism and celebrating National Day on September 2nd in simple, intimate, and profoundly sacred ways.

The trend of taking photos of young children to celebrate National Day has also become very popular. The bright smiles and innocent eyes of the children, yet expressing pride and love for their homeland, warm the hearts of adults. Taking photos of children with a National Day theme is also a way for parents to both instill patriotism in their children and feel that love more clearly through the images.

Moreover, even the simplest, most familiar items like keychains, phone cases, and hair clips are dyed with the colors of the red flag with a yellow star, and are sold in souvenir shops throughout the province. Everyone is excitedly celebrating the nation's National Day.
