New regulations in the 2025 high school graduation exam: Looking at your test will also deduct points

With new regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates can have their scores deducted, their exam results suspended, or even their results canceled if they violate the regulations.

According to the latest regulations applied in this year's exam, candidates who have actions such as looking at other people's papers or exchanging in the exam room, even just once, can have up to 25% of the total score of that exam deducted. This is the penalty corresponding to the form of "reprimand". In case the candidate continues to violate or has more serious behavior such as copying from other people's papers or helping other people copy, the form of "warning" will be applied and the exam will be deducted up to 50% of the total score.

Acts such as bringing in unauthorized documents, using unauthorized electronic devices, writing or drawing irrelevant content, threatening the invigilator or other candidates, or deliberately violating the rules after being warned may result in the candidate being suspended from the exam. In this case, the exam will be given a score of 0 and the candidate will be disqualified from taking the remaining subjects.

In addition to the disciplinary measures according to the level, the regulations also clearly state the behaviors that will be given 0 points immediately, including: Exams with handwriting of 2 or more people, taking the exam on scratch paper and then copying it onto the exam paper, or copying verbatim from prohibited documents. In particular, if a candidate receives 0 points on 2 or more exams, or is discovered to have falsified priority documents, taken the exam for someone else, or changed the exam after submission, the entire exam results will be canceled.

Another important point is that the regulations on exam time are also tightened. If you arrive at the exam room more than 15 minutes late after the test start time, you will not be allowed to take the exam. For multiple-choice exams, you are not allowed to leave the exam room before the end of the test time; and for essay exams, you are only allowed to leave after you have completed at least 2/3 of the test time.

Before the exam is distributed, candidates must carefully check the exam paper for page numbers, exam codes, printing errors, etc. Any errors must be reported within the first 5 minutes. If they are not detected and reported promptly, candidates will be held responsible.

With changes in the regulations for handling violations, the 2025 high school graduation exam not only requires students to be good at knowledge but also requires strict compliance. Behaviors such as looking at other people's papers or exchanging papers can now cost them their scores, or even the entire exam.

Candidates need to proactively review thoroughly, prepare mentally and absolutely not violate exam regulations to avoid losing opportunities in this important exam.

The high school graduation exam took place on June 26-27 with more than 1.16 million candidates, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to last year. This year, both students following the new (2018) and old (2006) generaleducation programs participated, with different subjects and exam questions.
