The virtual filtering process involves using admissions software to remove candidates who have already been accepted into a higher-priority program at another school from the provisional list of accepted students that the school submits to the system.
This ensures that each candidate is only admitted to one of their registered preferences in one method, based on the principle of prioritizing higher-ranked preferences.
Simultaneously, two virtual filtering groups, one in the North (led by Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and one in the South (led by Ho Chi Minh City National University), will implement separate procedures to work in conjunction with the Ministry of Education and Training 's system, aiming for the most accurate results.
The Ministry of Education and Training's virtual filtering process consists of 6 stages, with the following specific timelines and methods:

According to regulations, before 5 PM on August 17th, schools will enter the admission scores and selection results into the system, review them, and prepare to announce the results of the first round of admissions according to the general schedule. Schools will announce the results of the first round of admissions before 5 PM on August 19th.
This year, the Ministry of Education and Training's general admissions system recorded more than 733,000 candidates registering for admission (equivalent to 68.5% of those taking the high school graduation exam), an increase of about 73,000 compared to last year.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, out of nearly 400 training programs divided into 24 fields, the four fields that attract the most applicants are: business and management, engineering and technology, computer science, and pedagogy.
Four subject groups saw a significant increase in the number of applications compared to the previous year, including: education (up 85%), natural sciences (up 61%), national security and defense (up 46.5%), and semiconductor integrated circuit design (up 30%).
Based on the distribution of high school graduation exam scores and the number of registered preferences, experts predict that the cut-off scores this year may increase in some majors.
