In response to this situation, and in implementing the intensive food safety inspection plan during the "Month of Action for Food Safety" in 2026, the Market Management Department of Phu Tho province has deployed a comprehensive set of solutions to strengthen market inspection and control; promptly detecting and strictly handling violations in food production and business activities.

Market management forces inspect goods at supermarkets.
The Market Management Department has issued a specific plan, directing its teams to closely monitor their respective areas and focus on inspecting organizations and individuals producing and trading processed foods, imported foods, and pre-packaged goods; as well as items under the management responsibility of the Ministry of Industry and Trade such as wine, beer, soft drinks, processed milk, vegetable oil, flour, starch, cakes, jams, candies, etc.
At the same time, strengthen inspections at markets, supermarkets, grocery stores, small businesses, street food vendors, warehouses, and food transport vehicles.
The inspection covers a comprehensive range of aspects, from business registration certificates and food safety compliance certificates to product declaration documents, periodic testing reports; storage and transportation conditions, origin, product labeling, and price listing and sales at listed prices. When necessary, authorities collect samples for testing and quality assessment in accordance with regulations.
Along with inspection work, the Market Management Department is stepping up propaganda efforts to raise consumer awareness of the risks from counterfeit, substandard, and unidentifiable food products; and at the same time, improve the compliance with the law by food production and business establishments.
Through on-site inspections, many violations have been detected and handled promptly. For example, on April 21st, Market Management Team No. 15 conducted a surprise inspection of Minh Tam FOODS Co., Ltd. (Tho Tang commune), discovering nearly 1,400 frozen food products (weighing nearly 700 kg) that had expired, including items such as sausages, chicken ham, fish balls, and taro. The total value of the goods was over 36 million VND. Authorities fined the company 17 million VND and ordered the destruction of all the infringing goods in accordance with regulations.
Previously, on April 16th, Market Management Team No. 15 also inspected VHF Trading Company Limited (Tho Tang commune), discovering 440 packages of smuggled frozen sausages, weighing nearly 300 kg, without invoices or documents proving their legal origin. The company was fined 12 million VND and ordered to destroy all the infringing goods.
According to Deputy Head of the Market Management Department Truong Thanh Son, the most common violations today mainly relate to conditions ensuring food safety in storage, lack of hygienic waste collection equipment, use of food processors who do not meet labor protection regulations, and transportation and trading of animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene requirements...
Since the beginning of the year, the provincial market management force has detected and handled nearly 90 violations of food safety regulations, accounting for nearly 30% of the total market violations, with fines totaling nearly 280 million VND; and ordered the destruction of nearly 1.5 tons of unsafe animal products. In April alone, 38 violations were inspected and handled, with fines totaling nearly 110 million VND.
In the coming period, the Provincial Market Management Department will continue to direct its teams to strengthen local management, proactively monitor the situation, and closely coordinate with functional forces to detect, prevent, and strictly handle violations. This will contribute to protecting public health, maintaining market stability, and building a healthy business environment in the province.
