A comprehensive step forward

During the 13th term, the Education sector of Gia Lai province achieved many comprehensive results in various fields. The scale of the school and classroom network continued to be reorganized and consolidated to suit the conditions after the administrative unit merger. In addition, the management and operation of education gradually became more systematic and effective.

The quality of education at all levels has been maintained and has seen significant development. The enrollment rate for preschool children and the number of students at all levels remain high. Specifically, the enrollment rate for nursery children is 16.6%; for 3-year-old kindergarten children is 70.7%; for 4-year-old kindergarten children is 92.3%; and for 5-year-old kindergarten children is 99.8%, ensuring universal preschool education for 5-year-olds. The rate of children attending two sessions per day is 93%; the rate of children receiving meals at school is 80.09%; and the enrollment rate of 6-year-old children in grade 1 is 99.98%. The high school graduation rate for the 2024-2025 school year is projected to reach 99.32%.

The school's leading educational program has achieved many outstanding results, including a Gold Medal at the International Informatics Olympiad and a Silver Medal at the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad for student Le Kien Thanh (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted), along with many high awards at national-level student competitions in science and technology.

Mr. Pham Van Nam, Director of the Gia Lai Department of Education and Training, stated that along with improving the quality of education, Party building within the sector has been emphasized. Accordingly, discipline and order have been maintained. The team of administrators, teachers, and staff is gradually being standardized, meeting the requirements of fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training.

Over the past years, the Gia Lai Provincial Education Department has implemented the 2018 General Education Program synchronously and according to schedule at all levels. Through this, it has directed educational institutions to continue using the selected textbooks. At the same time, it has proactively reviewed and adjusted teaching materials, content, and local educational resources to suit the characteristics of the administrative units after reorganization.

The organization of two-session-per-day teaching has been promoted in areas where conditions permit, contributing to improving the overall quality of education; the percentage of primary schools organizing two-session-per-day teaching reached 91.15%. For remote areas and ethnic minority communities, the system of ethnic boarding and semi-boarding schools continues to be strengthened; the quality of ethnic education is gradually improving in a sustainable manner.

According to Mr. Nam, during the past term, investment in educational infrastructure continued to receive attention, prioritized resources, and achieved many positive changes. The school and classroom system has been gradually upgraded, basically meeting the requirements for organizing teaching and learning according to the 2018 General Education Program.

"The development of boarding and semi-boarding school systems, especially in ethnic minority and border areas, is being prioritized. A notable example is the project to build a multi-level boarding school for primary and secondary students in seven border communes."

"The project commenced on November 16, 2025, and aims to be completed before August 30 and put into use in the 2026-2027 school year. This will contribute to creating stable learning conditions, improving the quality of education for students in disadvantaged areas, and gradually narrowing the gap in educational quality between different regions in the province," Mr. Nam shared.

Along with investment in infrastructure, the work of educational quality assessment and the construction of schools meeting national standards has been intensified. By the end of 2025, the percentage of schools meeting national standards throughout the province will reach 72.36%. Specifically, the percentage of primary schools meeting national standards will reach 83.05%, lower secondary schools 78.48%, and upper secondary schools 66.06%. These results contribute to improving the overall quality of education and learning conditions for students in all regions.

Steadfastly moving forward with the 14th Party Congress

Entering a new term, the Gia Lai Provincial Education Department is implementing many comprehensive solutions, focusing on improving the quality of the teaching staff; strengthening professional training, skills development, and digital skills for administrators and teachers. At the same time, it is promoting the application of information technology in management and teaching.

Simultaneously, the sector prioritizes investment in infrastructure for disadvantaged areas; developing boarding and semi-boarding schools; and effectively implementing national target programs, especially the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous regions. Policies supporting students, vocational trainees, literacy programs, and lifelong learning are implemented in a coordinated manner.

Looking ahead to the 14th National Congress of the Party, Mr. Pham Van Nam hopes that the teaching staff throughout the province will continue to uphold their sense of responsibility and dedication to the profession. Along with that, they should constantly innovate and be creative in teaching; and students should strive to study, train, and nurture their aspirations for excellence.

“The Gia Lai Education sector hopes to continue receiving the attention, leadership, guidance, and support of Party committees, government agencies, and the people so that the cause of education and training can develop further. This will contribute to building a rapidly and sustainably developing Gia Lai, meeting the development requirements of the country in the new era,” Mr. Nam said.

Looking forward to the 14th National Congress of the Party, the collective of cadres, teachers, staff, and students of Hung Vuong Specialized High School (Gia Lai) express their profound belief in the success of the Congress - a particularly important political milestone that will guide the development of the country in the new period.

Sharing his expectations ahead of the Congress, Mr. Truong Quang Ha, a teacher at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, said: “We believe that the 14th Congress will continue to propose strategic and groundbreaking policies and decisions, creating a solid foundation for the education, training, and development of high-quality human resources in the country.”

With that belief, Hung Vuong Specialized High School is committed to continuing to innovate and improve the quality of comprehensive education, focusing on nurturing students' holistic development in knowledge, political acumen, and a desire to contribute. Through this, the school makes a practical contribution to the development of education in Gia Lai province and the cause of national construction and defense, helping to realize the major goals set forth by the 14th National Congress of the Party.

In the coming period, the Gia Lai Provincial Education Department will focus on effectively implementing Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, in conjunction with Resolution 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. At the same time, it will accelerate the implementation of Project 06 and national target programs in the field of education.
