The program not only provides language knowledge and teaching methods for Vietnamese to foreigners, but also integrates cultural exploration courses such as “Vietnamese History through Photos”, “Discovering Vietnam”, “Vietnamese Cultural Foundations”, and field trips to help students learn through practical experiences.

Another highlight is that the program requires international students to achieve level 5 Vietnamese proficiency, while Vietnamese students must achieve level 4 in one of four foreign languages: English, Japanese, Korean, or Chinese, to ensure communication skills, cross-cultural comparisons, and teaching in an international environment.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Huu Tri, Head of the Department of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Languages and Cultures, the goal of the program is to train teachers with high professional capacity, deep understanding of Vietnamese culture and people, and to be able to connect Vietnam with the world through language.

After graduation, students can take on diverse roles such as Vietnamese teachers domestically and internationally, training specialists, translators, editors, office staff in multilingual environments...

Speaking at the event, Mr. Joohee Park, General Director of Hyundai E&C Vietnam, commented: Human resources who understand Vietnamese and Vietnamese culture, and are good at other foreign languages, are a great advantage in the current global working context.

He expressed his belief that graduates of this program will be of great interest to international businesses, non-governmental organizations and diplomatic agencies.

In addition to the official training program, the launching ceremony also introduced the ULIS Vietnamese Club, where domestic and international students can exchange and share experiences in learning and teaching Vietnamese.

Former international students who studied at the School also awarded scholarships to new students, adding motivation to their journey to pursue new majors.
