Launching the Vietnamese Business Association in Mongolia

On June 29, in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia coordinated with the Vietnamese Business Association in Mongolia to organize the launching ceremony of the Vietnamese Business Association in Mongolia.

Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Khanh Tam; Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade Vu Ba Phu; Director of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia G. Ulziisaikhan; representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Development of Mongolia, the Immigration Department of Mongolia, the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese in Mongolia and Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Mongolia Nguyen Huy Tuan, along with members of the Executive Board of the Association and a number of local press and television reporters.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Mongolia and Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in Mongolia Nguyen Huy Tuan said that in the context of the two countries focusing on promoting economic , trade and investment relations, the Association wishes to promote its role in promoting cooperation, contributing to the economic development of the two countries.

With a pioneering role, the Association and experienced businessmen will support the Vietnamese community to minimize risks in local business investment, building a Vietnamese business community that is united, close-knit, supportive and helps each other in effective business operations in Mongolia.

Attending the online event was Mr. Peter Hong, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Abroad. On behalf of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Abroad, Mr. Peter Hong congratulated the establishment of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Mongolia; hoping that the Association will always look towards the homeland, uphold its principles, make efforts to connect businessmen of the two countries, meet the needs and expectations of members when participating in the Association, and at the same time promote its role as a people's diplomatic channel, promoting investment and trade promotion activities between the two countries.

At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Economic and Trade Cooperation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia G. Ulziisaikhan congratulated the Association; emphasizing that the establishment of the Association is of great significance in expanding cooperation between small and medium enterprises of the two countries.

At the same time, he thanked the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese Business Community in Mongolia for their active work to promote the development of Mongolia-Vietnam relations and cooperation; said that the two sides still have a lot of potential for economic and trade development and suggested that the two sides consider promoting trade in products that both sides have strengths in the coming time.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Agency, Ministry of Industry and Trade, expressed his hope that the Association will promote its role and functions well, thereby bringing many practical benefits to businesses of the two countries.

According to Mr. Vu Ba Phu, in recent times, bilateral trade turnover between Vietnam and Mongolia has nearly doubled, from 41.4 million USD (in 2017) to about 85 million USD (in 2022) and in the first 6 months of 2023 reached about 45 million USD.

The structure of Vietnam's export products to Mongolia is mainly phones, components, detergents, and rice; Vietnam mainly imports leather and chemicals from Mongolia.

In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Khanh Tam emphasized that the establishment of the Vietnam Business Association in Mongolia is an important event, marking the maturity of Vietnamese businessmen after more than 20 years of investing, staying and establishing businesses in Mongolia, opening a new phase - the phase of joining hands to build a collective - a community of Vietnamese businessmen united, close-knit, supporting and helping each other to do business effectively in Mongolia.

The Ambassador said that the Vietnam Business Association in Mongolia was established in the context of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries having developed well, towards the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (November 17, 1954 - November 17, 2024); he believes that under the leadership of Mr. Nguyen Huy Tuan - a successful Vietnamese businessman in Mongolia, the Association will gather all Vietnamese businessmen in Mongolia and grow stronger.

Ambassador Doan Khanh Tam also requested relevant agencies of Mongolia to continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions to support the Vietnam Business Association in Mongolia to operate effectively; hoping that the Association will have many positive contributions to promoting economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries, playing a good role as a bridge between businessmen of the two sides, making an important contribution to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia in the coming time.
