The cooperation "Application of digital physical technology to enhance heritage values" started with the Tam Chan campaign, the name of which is made up of two Sino-Vietnamese words: tam - search, and chan - true.
Accordingly, the project’s scholars will search for traditional cultural values that are at risk of being lost, then find a direction for research, preservation and promotion through the application of Nomion digital identification technology provided by Phygital Labs. These studies combining technology and traditional culture will be developed into digital physical products, digitally identified on the blockchain platform and transmitted information via NFC chips…
The Tam Chan campaign kicked off with the “Nghe Van Mieu” project. It is a creative collaboration between the UNESCO Information Center (UNET), Phygital Labs, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, and Dr. Tran Hau Yen The, a fine arts doctor who has conducted in-depth research on Vietnamese Nghe and has published a book titled “Nghe noi cua Khong san Trinh”.
The project aims to bring the image of Nghe - a pure Vietnamese sacred animal guarding the sacred space of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam in Hanoi closer to the Vietnamese people and international friends.
Statue of Nghe Van Mieu with RFID chip. This is a bronze cast item based on the prototype of Nghe sitting on the four pillars of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam. Interactors will experience digital physical books when scanning the code with the RFID chip attached to this statue.
In the Tam Chan campaign, the research project on Nghe named “Nghe at the gate of Confucius in Trinh yard” was also identified with a number, creating the first digital physical book in Vietnam. By using a smartphone to interact with the RFID chip attached to the Nghe statue in the Temple of Literature, the interactor will experience this book.
Mr. Nguyen Hung Son, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of UNESCO Associations, said that in the current context of digital transformation, culture needs to be given more attention to development so as not to be "left behind" many other modern fields. The application of new technology is a step to enhance the value of the country's culture.
Director of Phygital Labs Huy Nguyen informed that digital identification technology is suitable for authenticating and disseminating knowledge information. This combination is not only the key to connecting the values of Vietnamese heritage and culture, but also to fully exploit the potential and promote the development of the cultural industry.
Thus, the Tam Chan campaign will not only include Nghe Van Mieu, but will continue to apply digital physical technology to create certified, unique digital assets for Vietnam's relics, heritage and monuments.
