On August 12, in Hanoi , Professor Nguyen Hoang Nghi, former Deputy Director of the Institute of Technical Physics, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and his colleagues organized the book launching ceremony "Turbine engines, rocket engines and Ramjet/Scramjet engines on modern aircraft".

The book “Turbine engines, rocket engines and Ramjet/Scramjet engines on modern aircraft” edited by Professor Nguyen Hoang Nghi, Dr. Nguyen Khai Hoan (Former Deputy Director, Department of Military Science and Technology, Ministry of National Defense , Senior Researcher, Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thai (Chief Researcher, Moscow State Technical University) co-edited, published by the Science and Technology Publishing House (Ministry of Science and Technology).

The book is launched to provide reference information and inspiration for young scientists to conduct further research, moving towards designing parts and designing the entire modern engines made in Vietnam.

Currently, every year, 70-80 million people in our country fly. Every day, there are about 2,000 flights in the sky of Vietnam. The above estimated figures show that flying is increasingly being chosen by people. Passenger planes in our country are equipped with various types of turbine engines. Propeller turbines are on ATR 72 aircraft, Airbus and Boeing aircraft of all types are equipped with jet turbine engines, mainly Turbofan. Foreign planes flying to international airports in our country are also equipped with Turbofan engines such as: Airbus 350, Boeing 787 or IL 86-96, Sukhoi Jet 100...

Professor Nguyen Hoang Nghi said: “The book is a reference for readers who are exploiting, operating or entering the profession of repairing, designing parts and moving towards designing modern engines for aircraft. The content of the book will help readers easily read more in-depth documents on the physics and technology of Turbine engines, rocket engines and Ramjet/Scramjet engines”.

The book is 314 pages thick, divided into 6 chapters. In terms of content, the book covers many theoretical issues about the propulsion of engines, their operating principles based on the laws of mechanics and thermodynamics. The book deals with the structure of jet turbine engines, rocket engines and Ramjet/Scramjet engines. These are heat engines, operating in very high temperature ranges (1,500 - 2,500°C), so the issue of cooling engine parts and designing heat-resistant materials for engine manufacturing is also presented.

According to Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dai Hung, President of the Vietnam Physics Association, the book is suitable for readers to learn, master and refer to all the most basic and complex technological issues in the operation, repair and initial design and manufacture of modern engines; at the same time, the book can be useful for graduate students in related majors. However, the content of the book is quite broad, so the issues raised are only suggestions, the most basic principles, on the basis of which experts can delve into a few issues of interest.

At the age of 79, Professor Nguyen Hoang Nghi is still doing science and writing books. He still pursues a writing style based on scientific analysis and evidence. This is the 9th book on science and technology edited by the Professor in the past 20 years. The book was written in nearly 1 year, based on extensive research and reference to many international documents. Besides the topic of rockets and flying devices, his other scientific books are written on a variety of topics such as Amorphous and nanocrystalline magnetic materials; Ozone: Physics - Chemistry - Technology and applications; Natural water, principles of water filtration and disinfection; Magnetism and advanced magnetic materials.../.
