The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project has a total length of about 390.9 km and 3 branch lines; 18 stations, 13 technical stations, 2 repair stations... The project passes through 9 provinces, with a total investment of more than 203 trillion VND in phase 1. The section passing through Bac Ninh province is about 2.03 km in Tu Son city and Thuan Thanh town. Of which, the starting point is in Chau Khe ward (Tu Son city), the ending point is in Song Lieu commune (Thuan Thanh town); there is Yen Thuong station in Yen Thuong commune (Gia Lam, Hanoi) and Chau Khe ward (Tu Son city). The preliminary site clearance area (dual track completion phase) is about 12,208 hectares; resettling about 88 households, of which 20 households are in Thuan Thanh and 68 households are in Tu Son. In addition, technical infrastructure works must be relocated, with a total estimated cost of about 822 billion VND. At the online conference on the morning of April 26, the Prime Minister requested units and localities to speed up investment preparation work to start the project in December 2025.
After surveying the Dinh Bang ward area, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan and Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy agreed to assign the Railway Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) and the consulting unit to develop route plans in the direction of minimizing the impact on the special national relic complex - Son Lang Cam Dia area, the Ly dynasty kings and following the proposed plans of Bac Ninh , ensuring that the requirements for implementing railway routes and connecting infrastructure are still met.
