Speaking on the sidelines of a national online conference on combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the medical field, Dr. Chu Quoc Thinh said that the weight loss product advertised by DJ Ngan 98 has now been registered for product announcement.
However, the Department is reviewing the advertising content because it suspects there are signs of violating regulations on food advertising.

Earlier, on the morning of May 21, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety also informed that they would inspect the weight loss products promoted and sold by DJ Ngan 98. This move was made after many controversial opinions appeared on social networks, suspecting that the products may contain banned substances.
On the same day, the authorities in Ho Chi Minh City inspected the company related to the above products. According to the records, the product was recorded as being produced in Hanoi but the company address was on Pham Van Chieu Street, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City. However, when conducting the actual inspection, the Food Safety Management Team in charge of the area did not detect any activities of the company at the registered address.
On the morning of May 23, DJ Ngan 98 (real name Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan) came to work at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety and provided legal documents related to weight loss products including: X1000, X3 (Super Detox X3) and X7 (X7 Plus). The authorities initially recorded the information and will continue to verify according to legal procedures.
According to the Food Safety Department, advertising content for health protection foods must be confirmed by competent authorities before being released.
Currently, there are still some cases where individuals advertise in violation of regulations such as: products that have not been announced, advertising content that exceeds permitted uses, or advertising content that has not been confirmed.
The Food Safety Department affirmed that it will continue to strengthen the review of advertising content on social networking platforms and strictly handle violations to protect consumers.
The agency also emphasized that health protection foods are not drugs and cannot replace medicine. When people have signs of illness, they need to go to a medical facility for proper examination and treatment.
All information related to products that have been granted a Certificate of Registration of Declaration and a Certificate of Advertising Content is publicly available on the official websites of the Ministry of Health . "Consumers should proactively look up information before deciding to buy and use the product," a representative of the Food Safety Department noted.
