Rashford's happiness
Hansi Flick has landed the winger he desperately needed to bolster Barcelona's squad depth for greater ambitions: Marcus Rashford .
The English striker, not in coach Ruben Amorim's plans at MU, joined the Catalan team on loan, with a buyout clause worth about 35 million euros.
Rashford is only the third choice in Barca's transfer plan. President Joan Laporta's number one priority is Nico Williams, who Lamine Yamal really wants. The second solution is Luis Diaz - a Liverpool player chosen by sporting director Deco himself.
In both cases, Barca were in financial trouble. Nico Williams turned down the Blaugrana for the second time in two consecutive summers, eventually signing a 10-year contract with Bilbao.
With Luis Diaz, Barca cannot meet Liverpool's demand of at least 80 million euros. It is likely that the Colombian player will move to Bayern Munich.
Rashford fits Barca's financial picture and has openly expressed his dream of playing alongside Lamine Yamal. To achieve this, he is willing to take a pay cut.
In fact, Rashford was dropped from Amorim's plans shortly after he arrived at MU to replace Erik ten Hag. Last January, Marcus was loaned to Aston Villa.
Manager Unai Emery loves Rashford and expressed his intention to buy his value. However, Aston Villa failed to reach an agreement with the player who grew up at Carrington academy.

The example of Raphinha, who a year ago was thinking about leaving Barca, and Flick's explosive football further strengthened Rashford's belief. Therefore, he did not hesitate to reduce the huge salary he received at MU to play with Lamine Yamal, whom he admired.
Waiting for change with Hansi Flick
Barca have just completed their first week of training. On July 24, Hansi Flick and his team will fly to Japan, where they will begin their Asian tour. The first match is a test against Vissel Kobe. Then FC Seoul and Daegu.
So, after failing to land Nico Williams and Luis Diaz, Flick has asked Barca to focus entirely on Rashford.
The former Germany head coach wants Rashford to be present on the journey between Japan and Korea, so he has time to do tactical assembly.
One of Rashford's key qualities that Flick loves is his versatility. He can play anywhere across the front line, and is flexible in many different formations.
Flick needs someone to both relieve Raphinha on the left and replace Lamine Yamal at times. Rashford fits the bill, as well as being able to back up Robert Lewandowski in the centre-forward position.
From being an asset to MU, the greatest pride of the Carrington youth academy in the past decade, Rashford has gradually been isolated in his own home.
At 27, Rashford knows this is the most important moment of his career. He needs to regain his best form to be taken by Thomas Tuchel to the 2026 World Cup, after being a spectator at EURO 2024.
Joining Barca and teaming up with Lamine Yamal was a dream come true. Now, it is Rashford who must work hard to adapt to the new environment and play in harmony with Hansi Flick's dynamic football.
