From April 18-20, at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee chaired and coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize the 7th National Startup Day for students in 2025.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training , 2025 marks a strong development of the startup movement among students with the National Startup Festival and the 7th "Students with Startup Ideas" Competition organized on a large scale, creatively and inspiringly. In particular, this year marks the first time that vocational training institutions have participated, expanding the scope and adding diversity to the program.
The event includes many outstanding activities such as: Conference summarizing the Project "Supporting students to start a business until 2025", opening and closing programs of the National Startup Festival for students. In addition, there are a series of seminars and forums with orientation and inspiration such as: Seminar "Breakthrough solutions to promote creative startups in higher education institutions; Seminar "Supporting creative startups at vocational education institutions in the digital economic era"; Seminar "Solutions to promote innovative startup spirit of students from consulting, career, employment activities"; Forum "Startup inspiration from entrepreneurs"; Visiting the space displaying startup ideas of students, etc.

This year's competition was launched in December 2024, attracting more than 775 startup projects from students across the country, from universities, vocational schools and general education institutions. After the semi-finals, the 125 best projects were selected by the Ministry of Education and Training for the final round.

This is the first year the competition has recorded the participation of vocational training institutions – a milestone showing the strong spread of the entrepreneurial spirit throughout the education sector. This year’s projects are highly appreciated for their quality, creativity and focus on social and community issues. In particular, the number of participating secondary school students tends to increase sharply, showing the improvement in stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit from an early age.
Many projects from university and college students have successfully applied modern technologies such as IoT, Big Data, AI, etc. Some projects have been implemented in practice, achieved initial success and progressed to the profitable stage, with impressive growth in revenue and profit indicators.
The competition affirms the important role of education in forming and nurturing the spirit of creative entrepreneurship for the young generation - the pioneers in building the future of the country.

It is known that after 7 times of organization, the "Students with startup ideas" Contest has received nearly 2,239 projects from higher education institutions; 4,598 startup ideas and projects from vocational students and more than 1,299 projects from high schools and junior high schools. The entrepreneurial spirit is widely spread throughout the country, including remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas. Through the Contest, more businesses and investment funds are interested in and connecting to invest in feasible startup ideas and projects.
