Rudiger was angry after receiving a red card.

In the 120th minute of the match, when Real Madrid was trailing 2-3, Kylian Mbappe accidentally swung his arm into the face of Barcelona's center-back Eric Garcia. Referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea blew the whistle for a penalty against the Real Madrid striker, leading to a fierce reaction from the "Los Blancos" players standing outside.

Vinicius Jr and Lucas Vázquez rushed onto the pitch to protest, while centre-back Rudiger threw a water bottle at the referee. Mr. Bengoetxea immediately showed the German centre-back a red card, even though he had been substituted earlier.

Rudiger was no pushover either. He immediately demanded to rush onto the pitch, wanting to "settle the score" with referee Bengoetxea. At least 3 players and 2 members of the Real Madrid coaching staff had to hug the German midfielder, preventing him from entering the pitch to attack the referee.

Rudiger then continued to mumble something towards the referee. When the match ended, Rudiger continued to rush towards referee Bengoetxea, but was stopped by Real's coaching staff.

According to AS, the Real Madrid midfielder is likely to receive an additional heavy penalty, in addition to the suspension due to the red card, for throwing a water bottle and threatening to assault the referee.

The Spanish King's Cup final ended in an ugly image for Real Madrid, when they failed both professionally and in their behavior on the field.
