Mohamed Salah has just been named the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Player of the Year . This is the third time the Egyptian striker has received this individual award, after 2018 and 2022, something no player in the Premier League has ever done.

The 33-year-old star scored 29 goals and had 18 assists, contributing greatly to helping Liverpool win the Premier League last season.
Salah won the PFA individual award ahead of teammate Mac Allister, Cole Palmer (Chelsea), captain Bruno Fernandes (MU), Declan Rice (Arsenal) and striker Alexander Isak (Newcastle).
The Liverpool striker said he was “extremely proud” to make history - winning the PFA Player of the Year award for the third time.
Asked if Liverpool were stronger than last season after spending more than £270m this summer, Salah replied: “ You can’t say yes or no, it’s very difficult. We signed some highly-rated talents but we also let some great players go .
We need to pass on experience to the new players, because they have never played for Liverpool. With the media attention and everything at the club, playing for Liverpool is not easy. It is a lot of pressure for young players.
Van Dijk, me and all the players in the team try to support and help them .”

With the 2025 Premier League title, Liverpool also dominated the Team of the Year list, with Salah, Van Dijk, Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch all named.
Also in the squad is Alexander Isak, who has been instrumental in Newcastle's recent domestic success and scored in their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the EFL Cup, but was absent due to transfer controversy.
The Swedish striker wants to quickly join Liverpool but is being made difficult by the Magpies and is 'rebelling' to leave.
