Dong Hoi Airport starts construction of Terminal T2, architecture like winding sand dunes of Quang Binh

The T2 passenger terminal at Dong Hoi airport (Quang Binh) with a total investment of more than 1,750 billion VND has started construction, to be able to welcome 3 million passengers per year.

On April 19, Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction project of passenger terminal T2 - Dong Hoi airport ( Quang Binh ).

With a total investment of more than 1,750 billion VND, when passenger terminal T2 is put into operation, Dong Hoi airport can welcome 3 million domestic passengers/year.

Dong Hoi Airport currently has only one passenger terminal, T1, with a designed capacity of 500,000 passengers per year. However, in recent years, the number of passengers passing through the port has nearly doubled the designed capacity.

This is a component project of the project "Construction of passenger terminal T2 and expansion of aircraft parking lot - Dong Hoi airport", invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC.

This project is built on an area of ​​over 10.6 hectares, including a passenger terminal and ancillary works.

The project includes main items such as passenger terminal T2 deployed on an area of ​​nearly 1.2 hectares, with a scale of 2 floors combined with a mezzanine with 2 separate departure and arrival levels; multi-level roads, internal port traffic roads and car parking built on an area of ​​more than 7.4 hectares; in addition, there are also items of trees and landscape.

The investor representative said that the T2 passenger terminal of Dong Hoi airport was designed with inspiration from the characteristics of Quang Binh's natural landscape such as the winding sand dunes.

Mr. Doan Ngoc Lam, Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee, the completion of this project will not only help solve the infrastructure problem but also open up opportunities for Quang Binh to make a strong breakthrough, take the lead in the investment wave, and develop sustainably in the future.
