Opportunity to promote products and connect with business

The 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival is a provincial-level event, aiming to introduce the achievements and potential of the crab industry ; at the same time promote OCOP products of Ca Mau and the Mekong Delta provinces to domestic and international consumers. Realizing the importance of this, OCOP entities have carefully prepared from product quality to packaging, creating a unique mark for the brand.

Truc Thuong Cooperative is busy preparing goods for the Festival.

At Truc Thuong Cooperative (Dam Doi Commune), the working atmosphere has become more urgent these days. Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Oanh, Director of the Cooperative, said: "As soon as we received information about the Festival, the Cooperative proactively sought quality raw materials and mobilized human resources to prepare goods. At the same time, the unit also redesigned product packaging to suit the province's promotional orientation."

“The cooperative plans to bring 3 products: split shrimp, shredded shrimp and shrimp paste. If at the first Festival, the product only met the 3-star OCOP standard , now it has been upgraded to 4-star. This is an advantage for the product to reach further in the market. Regarding packaging, we asked the design consultant to both spread the image of the Festival and tell the product story, helping visitors better understand Ca Mau specialties,” Ms. Oanh shared.

Similarly, SK NONI juice product (4-star OCOP) of SK NONI Production - Trading Company Limited (Tran Van Thoi commune) is also ready for the big festival. The success of the trade promotion events at the Shrimp Festival and the 1st Crab Festival helps the Company more confident to bring the best quality products to this year's event, thereby promoting the image of Ca Mau with great potential to domestic and foreign friends.

Mr. Khuu Van Chuong, SK NONI Company, said: “The Crab Festival is an important activity that the Company has planned since the beginning of the year. We determined that the event is not only an opportunity for trade, connection, and exchange between entities and businesses, but also a place for us to promote the image of our homeland through each product. For the Company, this is also an opportunity to affirm product quality, listen to comments from customers and experts to improve the product, aiming to upgrade to 5-star OCOP in the near future”.

For traditional products, the Festival is also an opportunity to affirm the brand. The Nam Nhut fish sauce facility (Cai Nuoc commune) has proactively purchased more anchovies from the previous season to process fish sauce that meets 3-star OCOP standards to serve the event. Currently, the facility is focusing on packaging and perfecting diverse designs, suitable for many purposes: gifts, presents or family consumption. The fish sauce is processed by hand, going through many stages of fermentation, settling, filtering, and sun-drying, taking up to 12 months to produce the finished product.

Traditional products want to reach out through Crab Festival.

New playground for first-time participants

Not only the units that have participated in previous events, this year's Ca Mau Crab Festival is also a new playground for many OCOP entities participating for the first time.

Ms. Truong Ngoc Anh, Director of TA Company Limited (Tan Thuan Commune), shared: “We have contacted the Organizing Committee to learn about the registration procedures and prepare materials and packaging according to regulations. This is an opportunity to affirm that Ca Mau specialties not only meet OCOP standards but also carry cultural stories, creating emotional connections with consumers.”

Crab Festival opens a new playground for OCOP products participating for the first time.

Anh Kua sour shrimp paste product (3-star OCOP) will be displayed for the first time at the event. “With the provincial scale, the participation of many large enterprises and international partners, we expect to promote our products, find new consumption markets and increase orders even more in the coming time,” Ms. Anh said.

For Ca Mau Salt Cooperative (Dam Doi Commune), this is also the first time participating in the Festival. The Cooperative has 4 products that have just been recognized as 3-star OCOP at the end of 2024. Mr. Tu Y Nguyen, Director of the Cooperative, said: “We have completed the registration and are ready for the event. This is an opportunity to learn, cooperate, find potential partners, sign valuable contracts and expand the market. More importantly, it is also a motivation for the Cooperative to continue to innovate, bring quality products, contributing to raising the value of Ca Mau agricultural products”.

Ca Mau Salt Cooperative hopes that the Crab Festival will open up opportunities to "shine" for the cooperative's products.

With the determination of the province and the support of businesses, cooperatives and people, OCOP Ca Mau products are ready for the big festival next November.

Through the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival, the province wishes to promote and enhance the Ca Mau Crab brand; introduce culinary culture and OCOP products; and connect domestic and foreign businesses and investors to complete the value chain of the sea crab industry. This is also an opportunity to promote research and application of technology in farming and processing, contributing to improving productivity and product quality; thereby affirming the economic , cultural, tourism potential and sustainable development orientation of the province.
