Radar Station 615, Regiment 551, Naval Region 5, congratulates "Charity Class" on Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
The charity class on Hon Chuoi Island, about 20 nautical miles from the mainland, is taught directly by Major Tran Binh Phuc (Hon Chuoi Border Guard Station). The image of the green-uniformed teacher has become familiar and close to students and residents on the island.
The class currently has 8 students from grades 1 to 5, who are children of island residents. Every day, Mr. Phuc diligently teaches them to read and write, cultivates moral character, and helps them develop basic skills.
Every day, teacher Tran Binh Phuc and his students climb hundreds of stone steps to get to class on Hon Chuoi Island.
Students in the "Charity Class" are always taught wholeheartedly by teachers in green military uniforms.
He shared: "At first, teaching was difficult, having to take on professional duties and maintain the class at the same time. Thanks to the encouragement of the unit, the locality and the residents, the teaching work achieved positive results. The students who could not read or write, now read, write fluently and do basic calculations."

Since coming to the island in 2009, Mr. Phuc has taught more than 50 students, of which 20 continue to study on the mainland, and 4 of them have passed university entrance exams. This achievement is a source of motivation for the green-uniformed teachers to continue accompanying students on their learning path, contributing to bringing knowledge and dreams to children in remote islands./.
