The tourist group held a launching ceremony for volunteer activities and environmental protection.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc An, Deputy General Director of Vietluxtour Company, Director of Vietluxtour Can Tho branch, said: “Responsible tourism for the community has long been a product that many tourists are interested in. With these tours, tourists have the opportunity to set foot in new lands, perform meaningful activities and learn about the lives of local people, and explore the beauty of local culture. Vietluxtour has many tourism programs that combine integrated volunteer activities, such as: helping local communities by giving gifts to those in difficult circumstances; protecting and conserving nature through garbage collection to keep the sea clean, planting trees in conservation areas; or organizing charity programs in remote areas…”.

Specifically, in mid-November 2025, Vietluxtour Can Tho branch brought 350 tourists to experience Can Tho tourism combined with local social and volunteer activities. With the theme "Green Starts With Us", the group of tourists had unique indigenous cultural experiences combined with tree planting activities in the embankment area along Cai Rang floating market, collecting trash on the river from Ninh Kieu Wharf to Cai Rang floating market, donating blood at Can Tho Hematology - Blood Transfusion Hospital, visiting and giving gifts to children at the Orphanage Center...

After a 2-day, 1-night trip experiencing tourism activities combined with social and volunteer activities, Mr. Ly Thanh Binh (Ninh Kieu ward) said: “In the past 2 days, we had many meaningful activities. Besides the tourism experiences and offering incense at the Hung King Temple, we also had many meaningful volunteer activities: donating blood, collecting trash, planting trees, giving gifts to orphans... These experiences contribute to spreading the spirit of responsibility for the surrounding environment”.

Sharing the same opinion, Ms. Nguyen Tung Bao Chau (Cai Khe ward) shared: “I feel very happy to participate in the activities of this program. The program not only creates opportunities for me to experience Can Tho river tourism but also directly participate in community activities for the locality. In fact, even though it is just a very small action, when I plant and water trees myself, I feel very meaningful because I have contributed to beautifying the locality, especially creating green areas in the embankment area of Cai Rang floating market”.

Mr. Luu Phuoc Hau, Member of the Standing Committee of Cai Rang Ward Youth Union, informed: “The ward youth union coordinated with the fire prevention and fighting police force, students of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and two accompanying units, Vietluxtour and Techcombank, to carry out a landscape cleaning campaign, cleaning a 1km long road along the embankment of Cai Rang floating market, and planting about 70 bougainvillea trees. This activity not only contributes to creating a green, clean and beautiful landscape but also gradually creates a green space for tourists visiting around the floating market area to have more check-in points, take beautiful photos, contributing to promoting local tourism”.

After participating in the activities, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hien (Cao Lanh ward, Dong Thap province) expressed: “This journey is very meaningful because it helps us connect and have a sense of responsibility for the community. We are very excited to participate in each activity, from choosing each gift and teddy bear for the children to being serious in our activities 1-2 days before donating blood to ensure the quality of the blood, to collecting trash and planting trees, all of which are carefully prepared with tools and seedlings. With the tree planting activity, not only does it create a green environment but it also leaves a memory for us to make an appointment to come back next year to see what our achievements are like.”
