Gia Binh Airport will accommodate 81 parking spaces by 2030

The Ministry of Construction has just approved the adjustment of the Gia Binh International Airport Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Construction , Gia Binh International Airport is located in the communes of Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Nhan Thang, Lam Thao - Bac Ninh, has airport level 4E and is an airport used for civil, security and defense purposes.

During the 2021-2030 period, Gia Binh International Airport is planned to have a capacity of about 30 million passengers/year and 1.6 million tons of cargo/year; the types of aircraft in operation are B777, B787, A350, A321 and other special and special-purpose aircraft; the landing approach method is according to CAT III standards for runway 07L/25R, CAT II standards for runway 07R/25L.

Vision to 2050, Gia Binh International Airport will have a capacity of about 50 million passengers/year and 2.5 million tons of cargo/year; types of aircraft operated are B777, B787, A350, A321 and other special and special-purpose aircraft; landing approaches according to CAT III standards for 4 runways 07L/25R, 07R/25L, 06L/24R and 06R/24L.

Notably, for the runway system, in the period 2021-2030, Gia Binh International Airport is planned to have 2 runways in the direction 07-25 in the Northern area, size (3,500x45)m, the distance between the 2 runways is about 366m.

Vision to 2050, Gia Binh International Airport is planned to have 2 runways 06-24 in the southern area, size (3,500x45)m, distance between 2 runways about 366m.

In addition, in the period of 2021-2030, the Port is planning a parallel taxiway between the two runways in the Northern area, a parallel taxiway to the South of the 07R/25L runway; planning a taxiway connecting the Northern and Southern flight areas; a system of connecting taxiways, synchronous quick exit taxiways to connect the parallel taxiway with the runway, and the apron in the Northern area; material curb size according to regulations.

Regarding aircraft parking, in the period 2021-2030, Gia Binh International Airport is planning to have an aircraft parking area in the passenger terminal and cargo terminal area to accommodate about 81 parking positions.

By 2050, Gia Binh International Airport will expand the aircraft parking lot around the passenger terminal and cargo terminal to accommodate about 123 parking positions; reserve for expansion when needed.

A notable point is that Gia Binh International Airport is planned to have a Terminal serving special aircraft - VIP Terminal in the southwest area of the passenger terminal, south of the special aircraft parking area; the land area is about more than 5 hectares.

Regarding the passenger terminal, in the period 2021-2030, Gia Binh International Airport is planning a passenger terminal northeast of the VIP terminal with a capacity of about 30 million passengers/year.

Vision to 2050 will expand the passenger terminal to meet the capacity of about 50 million passengers/year.
