In the context of forecasted high load growth compared to 2023, implementing the direction of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and Power Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1), in the first quarter of 2024, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company has made efforts to produce and supply to the national power system more than 2.9 billion kilowatt hours, reaching 163.6% over the same period in 2023, contributing to meeting the mobilization needs of the power system.

Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company is a unit under the Electricity Generation Corporation 1 (EVNGENCO1), currently managing and operating Duyen Hai 1 and Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plants, with a total designed capacity of 2,490 MW; managing and operating the Duyen Hai Power Center seaport, which allows receiving coal ships with a tonnage of up to 30,000 tons. The company is also assigned by EVN to operate the Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant expansion with a designed capacity of 688 MW.
Entering 2024, facing some forecasted difficulties in ensuring electricity supply due to irregular fluctuations in imported coal prices and changes in the prices of some raw materials compared to the market due to the influence of the world political situation, competition from renewable energy sources, and changes in the plan to mobilize generators.
At the beginning of the year, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company focused on closely following the management goals, resolutely directing all aspects of production and business activities, proactively developing the annual production plan as well as the 2024 dry season power generation plan; focusing on operational inspection; performing repair, maintenance, and replacement of equipment according to the regular repair plan for the quarters and months of 2024 according to the approved production and business plan; the equipment system is operated in compliance with current procedures and standards, equipment defects and abnormalities are detected and handled promptly.

Specifically, the Company's Board of Directors specifically assigned units to regularly update and monitor the operation plans of the generators, strengthen supervision and monitor defects during the operation of the generators, thereby proposing suitable materials with correct technical specifications. At the same time, closely coordinate with coal suppliers to ensure flexibility in adjusting volume, maintaining coal inventory according to prescribed norms; enough coal to serve the generators operating according to schedule, especially during peak months of the dry season.
In addition, prepare contingency plans to deal with unexpected and unfavorable situations. Complete repair and maintenance work on schedule and with quality according to the approved plan to ensure safe operation of the unit. Continue to implement the project to improve reliability and operational efficiency, control the units according to the electricity price plan. Continue to perform well the work of occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, and environmental protection.
In the first quarter of 2024, Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company has been determined and made great efforts in production and business activities to provide safe, continuous and stable electricity, ensuring electricity quality and economic efficiency. This is an important premise for the Company to continue striving to complete the electricity output of the dry season and the whole year of 2024.
