The exhibition is held on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
In his opening speech, Director of Hanoi Museum Nguyen Tien Da said that the exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh’s Poetry Through Colorful Handwriting” is an activity organized by Hanoi Museum in collaboration with creative groups in the city, aiming to convey the poetic values of President Ho Chi Minh through art forms such as calligraphy, calligraphy and oil painting. This is not only a testament to the people’s love for Uncle Ho, but also demonstrates the spirit of implementing his sacred testament - building an increasingly rich and beautiful Vietnam.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Da, in the flow of development of the country, many creative groups, artisans, and researchers are still quietly preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity, contributing to creating artistic products that are both rich in tradition and have a spirit of innovation and creativity. That is the solid foundation for Vietnamese culture to deeply integrate with the world , contributing to the strong development of the country in the new era.
The exhibition space introduces nearly 40 works and art materials created by artists from the School of Life Calligraphy Club and Natural Colors Club, with the support of the Asian Heritage and Culture Club and Thanh Lieu Woodblock Printing Village (Hai Duong). The exhibition is a combination of exquisite calligraphy and artistic colors, depicting simple, emotional poems by President Ho Chi Minh, from verses in Prison Diary to poems praising nature, patriotism and revolutionary spirit.
Artist Thai Tinh, President of the School of Life and Natural Colors Club, shared: “I chose to express three of Uncle Ho's poems: Vong Nguyet, Doi Nguyet and Chieu Toi . Through each word, I feel the simplicity and depth in poetry, along with the romantic, poetic soul of Uncle Ho, a great man but also very close."

The highlight of the exhibition is the highly interactive art experience activities. Visitors can directly observe artisan Nguyen Cong Dat performing the carving of Uncle Ho's poem and participate in traditional woodblock printing from Thanh Lieu craft village. Each portrait of Uncle Ho printed using traditional techniques becomes a meaningful gift that viewers can bring home as a way to show respect for Uncle Ho.
Not only having artistic significance, the exhibition also spreads the spirit of humanity through the artists' commitment to donate 30% of the value of each work to support the Agent Orange Victims Support Fund. This small but humane action is like a message to extend the ideology of loving people and the community that President Ho Chi Minh pursued throughout his life.
The exhibition is open until May 29.
