Previously, at 3:30 p.m. the same day, Khanh Tien Border Guard Station received a report that fishing boat KG-61923-TS, owned and captained by Mr. Nguyen Van Lanh (born in 1974, residing in Vinh Hoa commune, An Giang province), was being sunk by big waves and strong winds about 3 nautical miles west of Vam Huong Mai estuary (U Minh commune, Ca Mau province).

Khanh Tien Border Guard Station immediately mobilized 6 officers, soldiers and 2 fishing boats to urgently go to the area where the ship sank to support the rescue of the distressed crew members.

At around 4:30 p.m., the working group and two fishing boats reached the location of the sunken KG-61923-TS and rescued Captain Lanh and brought him safely ashore. Mr. Lanh's health condition is now stable.
