"I'm trying every day to close the gap with the other contestants."
With 235 points, Tran Trung Kien, a student in class 12A1 at Le Hong Phong High School (Tay Hoa District), is one of the four contestants who will participate in the final round of the 24th season of the "Road to Olympia" competition.
Coming from a rural school, Kien always reminded himself to try even harder. “I always remind myself to try my best, to strive every day to close the gap with the other contestants. They are very strong competitors, coming from schools with a long history in the Olympia movement, so I have always made the most of my time and energy to prepare for the past 10 months,” Kien shared.

Despite being busy preparing for the live broadcast of the final round of the "Road to Olympia" competition, Ms. Tran Thi Le Thuy, Principal of Le Hong Phong High School, could not hide her emotion as her student was about to enter the race for the laurel wreath.
“Being in the final round this year, Kien is not only an honor for the school but also a source of pride for all students in the province. Over the past 10 months, witnessing Kien's tireless studying and training to prepare for the final, I believe he will fight his hardest and achieve a miracle,” Ms. Thuy shared.
To best prepare Kien, Ms. Thuy said that the school had been working on everything for months. A team of excellent teachers was established to provide Kien with additional support in improving his knowledge and developing his reflexes. Every week, Kien dedicates time to practicing his typing skills, mouse clicking, and quick reflexes in the obstacle course and speed challenges, as well as his ability to read questions quickly in the warm-up round.
In addition, the school has also organized a performing arts team that has been actively practicing for the past few weeks to perform and cheer on Kien at the live television broadcast location at Nghinh Phong Tower Square on the morning of October 13th.
Nghinh Phong Tower Square, the location for the live television broadcast from Phu Yen province on October 13th.
“1,740 students from the school will be transported by 39 buses to the live broadcast location at Nghinh Phong Tower to cheer for Kien. The entire school is working together, each person doing their part to prepare for this event. Teachers and students alike feel immense joy and pride as this is the first time a live broadcast has been brought to Phu Yen,” Ms. Thuy said.
Expect a "double" victory from the champion.
Having finished second twice in the weekly and monthly competitions, Kien shared that he was quite disappointed and felt a little lost. However, challenges forged his character, and entering the first quarterly competition, Kien was even calmer and more experienced in handling the situation.
Kien once shared that his idol is Messi of the Argentine national football team. Messi's journey to consecutive victories in the 2021 Copa America and the 2022 World Cup, after a series of defeats, is an inspiring story that motivates Kien to win the first quarter-final and, beyond that, the annual final. Kien hopes that he too can achieve a "double" victory in his journey to conquer the Olympia competition.
Mentally prepared for the final match, Kien shared that he is quite confident going into the final game. "I believe that Phu Yen will be the most brilliant venue in this year's final, a source of pride and motivation for me to fight and bring victory to my home province," Kien said.
Mr. Tran Khac Le, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Yen province, said: “By participating in the final match of the year and bringing the first televised competition to Phu Yen, Trung Kien has already been a source of pride and honor for the province's education system. Entering the final match, I hope Kien will be 'courageous, confident, and victorious' to bring the highest achievement back to Phu Yen.”
The final round of the 24th season of the "Road to Olympia" competition took place at 8:30 AM on October 13th. The four male students competing in the final match were Tran Trung Kien (Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen), Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh (Hung Vuong Specialized High School, Gia Lai), Vo Quang Phu Duc (Quoc Hoc Specialized High School, Thua Thien – Hue), and Nguyen Nguyen Phu ( Hanoi University of Education Specialized High School).
