According to the General Statistics Office, in the first 7 months of 2025, IIP is estimated to increase by 8.6% over the same period last year (same period in 2024 increased by 8.5%).
Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 10.3% (in the same period in 2024, it increased by 9.6%), contributing 8.5 percentage points to the overall growth.
Electricity production and distribution increased by 4.6% (same period in 2024 increased by 12.0%), contributing 0.4 percentage points.
The water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment industry increased by 10.4% (increased by 7.1% in the same period in 2024), contributing 0.1 percentage points; the mining industry decreased by 2.7% (decreased by 6.6% in the same period in 2024), causing a decrease of 0.4 percentage points.

The industrial production index in the first 7 months of 2025 of some key secondary industries increased compared to the same period last year, such as: Production of motor vehicles increased by 29.9%; production of rubber and plastic products increased by 16.9%; production of leather and related products increased by 15.4%; production of other non-metallic mineral products increased by 14.8%; production of garments increased by 14.5%; production of other means of transport increased by 12.2%; production of prefabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) increased by 11.0%...
On the contrary, the IIP index of some industries increased slightly or decreased: Beverage production increased by 3.1%; electrical equipment production increased by 3%; crude oil and natural gas exploitation decreased by 8.1%; and production of drugs, pharmaceutical chemicals and medicinal materials decreased by 4.9%.
IIP in the first 7 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year increased in all 34 localities. Some localities had a fairly high increase in this index thanks to the processing and manufacturing industry; the electricity production and distribution industry increased.
On the contrary, some localities have low IIP growth due to low growth or decrease in processing and manufacturing industry; mining industry and electricity production and distribution industry.
Some key industrial products in the first 7 months of 2025 increased compared to the same period last year: Automobiles increased by 64.4%; televisions increased by 21.1%; NPK mixed fertilizer increased by 19.7%; casual clothes increased by 14.9%; cement increased by 14.8%; leather shoes and sandals increased by 13.6%; aquatic feed increased by 11.9%...
On the other hand, some products decreased compared to the same period last year: Gaseous natural gas decreased by 12.9%; synthetic fiber textiles decreased by 5.2%; crude oil decreased by 3.1%; mobile phones decreased by 0.4%.
Also according to the General Statistics Office, the number of employees working in industrial enterprises as of July 1, 2025 increased by 1% compared to the same period last month and increased by 3.9% compared to the same period last year.
Of which, the corresponding rates of state-owned enterprises increased by 0.5% compared to the same period last month and the same period last year; foreign-invested enterprises increased by 1.2% and 4.6%; non-state enterprises increased by 0.6% and 2.7%.
By industry, the number of employees working in mining enterprises increased by 1.2% compared to the same period last month and increased by 1.6% compared to the same period last year; the number of employees in the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 1.1% and increased by 4.1%; the production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning decreased by 0.1% and decreased by 0.5%; the water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment industry increased by 0.2% and increased by 1.5%.
