The female star of "Parasite" and the male star of "Glory" reunite in a new detective film

Recently, the producer of the movie "Interview with a Murderer" released a trailer revealing many interesting contents of the movie.

The movie "Interview with a Killer" released a breathtaking trailer, revealing the fateful encounter between a female reporter and a serial killer.

The film revolves around a tense battle of wits between a psychotic murderer with profound medical knowledge. The film opens with a challenge from the murderer Lee Young-hoon (played by Jung Sung-il) to female reporter Baek Sun-ju (played by Cho Yeo-jeong) revealing the opportunity to save the victim if she accepts an interview with him. The tense confrontation between Baek Sun-ju and Lee Young-hoon takes place in a closed room, with an extremely tense battle of wits between a crazy murderer with profound medical knowledge on one side, and a veteran female reporter, who is under pressure because of the fragile survival of innocent victims on the other side.

“Interview with a Murderer” first introduced a new subgenre: “Tight-focus thriller”. In a closed room where every word becomes an offensive weapon in a one-on-one confrontation with a serial killer, director Cho and “Interview with a Murderer” exploited the fear of being locked in a closed room, turning the interview room into a third character besides the two main characters.

The killer Lee threatens Baek Sun-ju that if she leaves, more people will die. She is imprisoned and trapped both physically and psychologically, in a battle she voluntarily enters for the sake of her conscience. The sealed room becomes a cage waiting to be broken out.

The film is also an acting confrontation between two acting talents Cho Yeo-jeong and Jung Sung-il, which experts liken to Blue Dragon versus Baeksang - the prestigious awards that the two actors are holding.

Cho Yeo-jeong is known to Vietnamese audiences through her role in the blockbuster “Parasite”, while Jung Sung-il made a strong impression through his role as a “nice bastard” in the movie “The Glory”. The two actors played half-brothers in the 2019 movie “Woman Of 9.9 Billion”, but in this collaboration they will enter a life-and-death confrontation and race against time.

The film is also a surprising return for director Cho Young-jun after healing works such as “The Day Without Mother” (2017) and “Song of the Sun” (2025).

The movie “Interview with a Murderer” is scheduled to premiere on October 24 in theaters nationwide, distributed by Galaxy Studio.
