The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City has just announced the 16th Summer Camp for Overseas Vietnamese and City Youth in 2023. The 2023 Summer Camp has the theme “Pride of Vietnam” and is jointly organized by the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in the city and the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union once a year.
Summer camp is an opportunity for each camper to experience different emotions about the places they go through, the culture, customs, and practices of Vietnamese people imbued with national identity. Through that, they are proud of the heroic, indomitable tradition of the Vietnamese people, and love the country and people of Vietnam more.
The 16th Summer Camp for Overseas Vietnamese and Ho Chi Minh City Youth in 2023 will open on the morning of July 11 at the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and close on July 15 in Binh Thuan province.
The summer camp attracted 60 campers, including overseas Vietnamese youth from 13 countries and territories such as: USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan (China), Cambodia and Vietnam.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the summer camp will take place from July 11 to 12. At the camp, campers will offer incense to Uncle Ho's statue at Nguyen Hue walking street, then visit famous monuments and scenic spots, learn about the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people and see artifacts and antiquities associated with the history of the nation at the Museum of History and Ho Chi Minh City Museum. Campers will travel by river bus to see the whole view of Ho Chi Minh City developing from both sides of the Saigon River with many outstanding works: Landmark 81, Thanh Da peninsula. The highlight of this year's summer camp is that the campers have 1 day to participate in the Volunteer Campaign with Ho Chi Minh City Youth in Thanh An island commune, Can Gio district with many meaningful activities such as gratitude, environmental protection, sports exchange and participating in the discussion "Thanh An Youth with International Integration" to guide English learning and English exchange with the youth of Thanh An island commune.
In Binh Thuan, the summer camp takes place from July 13 to 15. Here, campers will explore the sunny and windy coastal region of the South Central Coast - Binh Thuan Province with the poetic and beautiful Ca Ty River flowing through the center of Phan Thiet city and one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. During 3 days and 2 nights here, campers will enjoy the beauty of Ta Cu Mountain, admire the majestic mountain scenery from the cable car up to Ta Cu Mountain; learn about Duc Thanh School - where Uncle Ho stopped to teach before leaving to find a way to save the country; visit and learn about traditional craft villages and try making rice paper.
Along with that, campers will visit and learn about the culture and architecture of the Cham ethnic group in Binh Thuan - Poshanu Cham Tower... Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the campfire night with activities such as roasting potatoes, corn, fun and exciting games by the flickering fire; participate in Team Building to strengthen team bonding, watch the sunrise and experience sand sliding on the large sand dunes, enjoy famous specialties of Binh Thuan.../.
