According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Diep, Chairman of the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, Vietnam Water Week 2023 is an international and regional event for policy makers, sponsors, international organizations, enterprises manufacturing, distributing equipment, machinery and technological solutions in the field of water supply, drainage and wastewater treatment in Vietnam and internationally to exchange, approach, introduce and transfer advanced technologies of the water industry in the world and Vietnam. This is also an opportunity for all parties to discuss, share and learn from each other's experiences in many areas of the water industry such as policy institutions, corporate governance, smart technology, new scientific and technological advances in the water industry.
In particular, through the Water Week events, the government and people will clearly understand the shortcomings of water in life, together build policies, develop sustainably, and serve the country's socio-economic development.
Within the framework of Vietnam Water Week, there will be seminars discussing hot issues of the water sector with the participation of representatives of state management agencies, international organizations, domestic and international experts and scientists, business units in the field of water supply, drainage, wastewater treatment and environmental sanitation in Vietnam, and many water sector organizations in many countries.
Specifically, there are 4 main topics of discussion at the workshop: Draft Law on Water Supply and Drainage; Drainage and wastewater treatment for public health and the environment; Solutions to adapt to climate change for the water sector and the scientific workshop on Technology and Training to improve the capacity of the Vietnamese water sector.
Along with international seminars, exhibitions of products and technologies in the water and environment industry with nearly 200 booths displaying advanced equipment and materials and technologies from 15 countries with developed water industries such as Australia, Finland, Germany, Japan, Korea, the US... create space for businesses, domestic and international suppliers of materials and equipment to introduce advanced solutions and technologies, promote their brands, thereby reaching potential customers and seeking opportunities to expand cooperation and promote trade.
Several side events including the 2nd meeting of the Southeast Asian Water Sector Network (SEAWUN) have just been restarted in Jakarta (Indonesia) in June 2023 by 7 national Water Sector associations including: Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines along with several domestic and international side events.
