"Province and city mergers", "Cambodia fraud" attract public attention

Coc Coc has just released the Search Trends Report for the first quarter of 2025, revealing a colorful picture of Vietnamese users' interests in the first 3 months of the year.

In the first quarter of 2025, the public paid special attention to administrative reform policies, especially the merger of provinces and cities and the streamlining of the state apparatus. Search data recorded a 162% increase in keywords related to "merging ministries", "reducing ministries", "streamlining the apparatus", while "merging provinces and cities" skyrocketed by 439%. This reflects people's interest in major government decisions. The number of searches for the keyword "Cambodia fraud" also increased by 378%, stemming from a series of cases related to the enticement of illegal labor. Vietnamese youth continued to create language with a series of slang words such as "Joke of the Day", "what have you eaten yet, beautiful people" and "sít rít lè khe". Notably, the number of searches for "Joke of the Day" increased by 44,545%, reflecting the trend of quizzes on social networks. The slang term "sít rít" (a variation of "secret") exploded, with searches increasing 4,355%.
