After receiving prompt responses and appropriate handling of their requests from the leaders of Bien Hoa city, many households agreed to sign commitments to hand over their land for the construction of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.

On March 29th, approximately 200 households in Phuoc Tan ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province, who had not yet handed over their land for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project, were invited to a meeting for a direct dialogue with the leaders of the Bien Hoa City People's Committee.

The dialogue focused on proposals regarding the implementation of policies on support and compensation when the State reclaims land. The people primarily raised general issues, mainly related to resettlement, land location, and compensation rates.

Leaders of Bien Hoa City held a dialogue to resolve further issues and answer questions from the people.

After receiving responses from Bien Hoa city leaders regarding the issues of concern to the people, and having their requests addressed promptly in accordance with regulations, many households agreed to sign commitments to hand over the land for the construction of the national key project.

According to the leaders of Bien Hoa City, during this phase, along with propaganda and persuasion efforts, the local authorities also planned to enforce land acquisition against households that did not agree to hand over the land. To date, the Bien Hoa City People's Committee has issued 188 decisions to forcibly reclaim land for the project section passing through Phuoc Tan ward, but subsequently, all households voluntarily handed over the land and dismantled their houses.

"Local authorities will continue to persuade residents until March 30th for households that have received eviction orders but have not handed over the land. After that, if residents still do not hand over the land for the road, the Bien Hoa City People's Committee, the Phuoc Tan Ward People's Committee, in coordination with the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, will proceed with coercive measures on March 31st," directed Mr. Ho Van Nam, Secretary of the Bien Hoa City Party Committee.

As of today (March 29th), 100% of residents in Tam Phuoc ward have handed over their land. In Phuoc Tan ward, nearly 800 households have agreed to hand over their land, equivalent to about 87%, while nearly 200 households have yet to do so.

Land clearance for the section passing through Phuoc Tan ward is also being processed.

Regarding construction progress, according to our reporter's observations, on March 29th, the initial section of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway component project 1 was basically cleared, allowing the contractor to mobilize machinery and equipment for drilling piles for the overpass and simultaneously carrying out construction on many other items. The interchange at the beginning of the expressway and Vo Nguyen Giap road is one of three priority areas for land handover to accelerate construction.

The local people handed over the land, so the contractor was able to quickly begin construction.

Simultaneously, for other sections of the expressway through Dong Nai, the contractor has also been laying the roadbed, laying crushed stone, constructing bridges and culverts, and drilling piles to treat weak soil foundations… The output of component project 1 has reached approximately over 25% to date.

The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway passes through Dong Nai province for approximately 34.2km. Of this, component project 1 is over 16km long. Currently, components 1 and 2 in Dong Nai have only reached 25-35% completion and are still facing difficulties with land acquisition.
