The weather in Hanoi has been very nice these days, but the walking street by Ngoc Khanh Lake is still quite deserted and has not really attracted people. Many people said that compared to before, business and life have not changed much.
After nearly 3 weeks of operation, Ngoc Khanh walking street is relatively deserted despite the beautiful late autumn weather.
Early morning and evening all week, this walking street is mainly for people living around the area to walk and enjoy the breeze.
The business activities along the lake are mainly coffee shops, tea shops, and restaurants. There are not many outstanding entertainment activities.
Ngoc Khanh Lake walking street and service business area officially opened on October 11.
From 6pm Friday to midnight Sunday every week, the entire Ngoc Khanh Lake area, Pham Huy Thong Street and 8 shared alleys connecting to Kim Ma, Nguyen Chi Thanh, La Thanh streets... will be closed and traffic will be diverted to serve the walking street activities.
However, even on weekends, this area is not crowded with tourists. The weekend road closure also causes the number of customers at the cafes here to decrease significantly.
Many people said that compared to before, business and life have not changed much.
On the morning and afternoon of October 30, many coffee shops were empty. Some large shops had only a few people coming.
With a total investment of nearly 30 billion VND from the district budget, Ngoc Khanh walking street is expected to create a space to promote the development of commercial and service activities here and nearby, contributing to the socio -economic growth of Ba Dinh district.
However, at first, this place did not really meet expectations.
The most crowded places are probably the tea shops along the walking street.
The area has invested heavily in landscaping.
On the afternoon of October 30, some people carried fishing rods, even though swimming and fishing were prohibited here.
Toilets are clean, but closed on October 30.
Some visitors here think that the construction of a walking street along Ngoc Khanh Lake is not suitable, and even reduces the appeal of the famous and crowded coffee street before.
