Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Council surveys traffic projects expected to be submitted to the upcoming People's Council meeting

These are major projects and works identified in the Resolution of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, which will be submitted to the City People's Council for consideration at the upcoming session.

The survey team focused on routes connecting to Ring Road 4, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, inter-port routes, roads 991, 992 and 994, and the area expected to form a free trade zone associated with Cai Mep Ha seaport.

According to comrade Vo Van Minh, the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has identified many key projects and works for the 2025-2030 term. In particular, the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port area and the connecting routes, the urban railway lines connecting to Vung Tau and the expressways towards this area are very important to Ho Chi Minh City.

This is also an area with great potential associated with the free trade zone, the exploitation capacity of Cai Mep - Thi Vai port, Can Gio area, along with parallel traffic routes connecting from Long Thanh airport to the port, from Long Thanh to Ho Chi Minh City and from Long Thanh to Ho Tram.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh emphasized that paying attention to investing and completing synchronous infrastructure for this area is extremely necessary and urgent, to help the region develop more strongly, contributing to promoting the overall development of Ho Chi Minh City.

At the survey, comrade Vo Van Minh listened to reports from relevant departments, branches and units on the planning, implementation and resource allocation for key traffic projects in the Ba Ria - Vung Tau area (formerly).

In which, the unit presented the master plan of the traffic system connecting with the free trade zone and Cai Mep Ha port, and the progress of the project to form the free trade zone.

Project management boards also reported on implementation progress, disbursement and proposed strategic connection projects to be included in the 2026-2030 medium-term public investment plan.
