Completion of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Component 1 Project in 2025
Official dispatch No. 11414 /VPCP-CN stated: Considering the request of the Ministry of Construction on the results of removing difficulties and obstacles at the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Project and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project Phase 1 of Inspection Team No. 06, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc assigned Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee:
Regarding site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure: direct relevant units to speed up the progress of site handover (0.3km of Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project; overpass area on DT.770B road of Component Project 2 of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project) before November 30, 2025.
Regarding stone material sources: continue to support investors and contractors in supplementing and adjusting the allocation of stone volume at mines to meet project progress requirements.
Regarding construction: direct the Project Management Board and contractors to focus financial resources, mobilize more human resources and equipment, increase construction sites, apply technical solutions to shorten construction time to complete Component Project 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project in 2025, ensuring quality, efficiency and safety of the project.
Main route of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project to open to traffic in 2025
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to direct investors and contractors to speed up the construction progress of Component 3 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project, to soon complete the project according to the set plan.
The Ministry of Construction directed the Project Management Board and contractors to increase human resources, construction equipment, financial resources, and speed up construction progress to ensure the main route (Component Project 2 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project) is opened to traffic in 2025, ensuring quality construction in unfavorable weather conditions, efficiency, and project safety.
* The Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway Project has a total length of 57.8km. The starting point is at the intersection with the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, the end point connects with the Tan Hiep Interchange of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project. The project passes through Long An province (2.7km), Ho Chi Minh City (26.4km) and Dong Nai province (28.7km).
The project consists of 16 packages divided into 3 sections according to the funding source: Section 1 (West side includes 4 packages) 21.1m long and Section 3 (East side includes 9 packages) 25.3km long using ADB loan and capital arranged by VEC; Section 2 (includes 3 packages) 10.7km long using JICA loan. There are 2 cable-stayed bridges on the route, Binh Khanh bridge and Phuoc Khanh bridge.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway is invested with a total length of nearly 54km. The starting point is at the National Highway 1 bypass in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province. The ending point is at National Highway 56 in Ba Ria City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province.
The project is divided into 3 component projects. Of which, component project 1 (Km 0+000 - Km 16+000) is 16km long in Dong Nai province, investing in a scale of 4 lanes.
Component project 2 (Km 16+000 - Km 34+200) is more than 18km long in Dong Nai province, with an investment scale of 4 - 6 lanes (depending on each section).
Component project 3 (Km 34+200 - Km 53+700) is 19.5km long and located in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, with a scale of 4 lanes.
According to plan, the project will be basically completed in 2025 and put into synchronous operation in 2026.
