Saudi Arabia will build the world's first theme park dedicated to the comic, film and video game universe related to the famous Japanese manga series "Dragon Ball". This is part of a project by Qiddiya Investment Company.
According to a Qiddiya press release, the theme park will be built near the capital Riyadh, with rides and attractions divided into seven zones, along with restaurants and hotels.
The "Dragon Ball" manga became known to the public after its first publication in the Japanese manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump in 1984.
The famous manga series has since been adapted into films, video games and television shows in over 80 countries. Its author, the famous Japanese manga artist Akira Toriyama, has passed away at the age of 68.
Saudi Arabia is trying to diversify its oil-dependent economy with a series of major projects involving the entertainment sector.
