Previously, on November 20, information about the collapse of Dong Cam dam (Phu Hoa 1 commune, Dak Lak province) appeared on social networks. On the same day, information also appeared on social networks about the unsafe Buon Tua Srah hydropower dam, causing panic among people in the downstream area.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khanh, Director of Buon Kuop Hydropower Company (the operator of Buon Tua Srah Hydropower Plant) affirmed that all equipment and works of Buon Tua Srah Hydropower Plant are in safe and stable working condition. The Company always carries out monitoring, calculating and providing reservoir operation parameters to the authorities in full and timely manner in accordance with the inter-reservoir operation process in the Srepok River basin and the plan for coordination of natural disaster prevention and search and rescue of reservoirs.

On the evening of November 20, in Dray Bhang commune (Dak Lak province), a distress call also appeared on social media with the content: "urgent rescue team needed in Knao village, water has risen to people's houses... children and the elderly are still trapped in the village". In response to the incident, the functional forces and Dray Bhang commune police quickly arrived at Knao village to carry out rescue operations. However, it was noted that in this area, floodwaters have not yet affected people's houses.
A representative of Dak Lak Provincial Police said that they will strictly handle cases of posting false information that causes public confusion.
