As shopping demand skyrockets at the end of the year, markets in major cities have been plagued by counterfeit, low-quality goods and commercial fraud. Local authorities have stepped in to tighten controls to protect consumers and maintain market stability.
For example, in Hanoi , in a short time, the authorities have handled more than 4,200 violations, collecting 90 billion VND for the budget. Ho Chi Minh City is also accelerating the control of goods quality through the "Responsible Green Tick" program to form safe and transparent consumption habits in the community.
As of November 7, 481 suppliers have registered to participate, with more than 3,900 products confirmed to meet the "Responsible Green Tick" standard.
Consumers now also prefer to consume products with the "Green Tick" label. At some large supermarkets, sales of this product group increased by an average of more than 20% compared to the time before the implementation.
However, the program is still focusing mainly on fresh food and processed food, which require strict control procedures from production to distribution. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade has just requested units to expand the list of goods to the non-food group.
