According to statistics from the National Competition Commission, e-commerce is ranked 2nd among 22 groups of goods that consumers send the most complaints about due to goods not being as described, businesses not resolving complaints satisfactorily or sellers taking advantage of property appropriation. In 2023 alone, the market management force nationwide also inspected and handled 764 cases of e-commerce violations, imposing fines of 12 billion VND. It is worth mentioning that violations in e-commerce are increasing with more sophisticated, complicated and difficult-to-control tricks, requiring a strengthened management role of state agencies. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Lam, Inspector of Market Management Team No. 4, Thanh Hoa Province Market Management Department said: "The team has increased its grasp of the area to grasp e-commerce businesses, coordinated with functional agencies to inspect and handle and grasp the area of e-commerce operations".
