Using loudspeakers for propaganda on the highway
On September 23, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7 said that in order to avoid congestion and minimize the risk of accidents on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, the unit has just issued a document requesting transport businesses and drivers participating in traffic on the route to strictly follow the rules of driving in the correct lane.

According to Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7, in the face of the situation where many vehicles are not traveling in the correct lane, especially heavy trucks, containers and passenger cars traveling in the left lane at low speed, causing obstruction and potential risk of accidents, the Traffic Police Department has requested units to strengthen lane separation measures and directly propagate to traffic participants.
According to the new regulations, passenger vans with 29 seats or more, container trucks and trucks with a total weight of 7.5 tons or more must travel in lane 2 (the right lane, next to the emergency lane). Cars, trucks under 7.5 tons and passenger vans with less than 29 seats travel in lane 1 (next to the median strip). This arrangement is to create a smooth flow of traffic for small, high-speed vehicles in the left lane, while at the same time reasonably regulating the flow of large vehicles to avoid congestion.
To bring the regulations to every driver, the Traffic Police Team No. 7 - the unit in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong route - has deployed many synchronous communication solutions. In addition to displaying lane information on electronic boards along the route, the force also directly broadcasts mobile loudspeakers on the highway, arranges staff to guide at toll stations and posts information on social networks.
During patrols, traffic police often use loudspeakers to remind drivers, especially those who drive heavy trucks or large passenger cars deliberately in the wrong lane. The combination of propaganda and direct reminders is expected to raise drivers' awareness, thereby forming the habit of driving according to regulations.
Call on businesses to comply
A representative of the Highway Traffic Police Team No. 7 said that large vehicles driving in the left lane at slow speed is one of the main causes of congestion, creating pressure on fast-moving cars and small passenger vans. Strictly implementing the principle of “large vehicles driving in the right lane” will contribute significantly to making traffic smoother and safer.

Not only the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, the Traffic Police Department has also sent a document to the Vietnam Road Administration, requesting to deploy a similar lane separation plan on 8 other key expressways with 4 lanes and continuous emergency stops. In this list are the routes: Da Nang - Quang Ngai, Hai Phong - Mong Cai, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, Cau Gie - Cao Bo, Bac Giang - Lang Son and Hanoi - Lao Cai.
This move demonstrates the determination to build a modern, safe and efficient expressway system, in the context of increasing traffic volume. The Traffic Police Department also called on transport enterprises, cooperatives and drivers to strictly comply with lane separation regulations, considering this a shared responsibility in maintaining traffic order.
According to the reporter, since the implementation of direct propaganda measures on the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong route, the violation of lane separation has shown signs of decreasing. Many drivers also expressed their agreement with the new regulation, because the clear separation of lanes makes the journey safer and more convenient.
In the coming time, the traffic police will continue to patrol, combine with reminding and strictly handle cases of intentional violations. The goal is to form traffic culture habits on the highway: correct lane, correct speed, correct regulations - for the safety of everyone.
