On October 14, the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat announced that a representative of GO! Da Lat supermarket had given a letter of apology to the family of the boy who was taken into a private office by supermarket security earlier, on suspicion of stealing chocolate.
In the apology letter, the Board of Directors of GO! Da Lat Supermarket said that immediately after receiving the feedback, they held an internal meeting, reviewed the entire process of handling the situation at the scene and noted shortcomings, especially in working with child customers.
The supermarket also acknowledged the security department's professional errors in the incident that occurred on October 11 at the shopping mall, and pledged to rectify, retrain, and supplement procedures to ensure the legal rights of children and customers.
Ms. VNXT, the child's mother, said that the family agreed with the supermarket's apology, as the unit proactively accepted responsibility and made specific commitments on remedial measures to prevent similar situations from recurring.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on October 11, Ms. VNXT's 10-year-old son went shopping with his cousin at GO! Da Lat supermarket.
Because they suspected the child had stolen chocolate, some security officers took the child to a separate room, isolated from the shopping area for questioning. Ms. T. said she did not receive any notification from the supermarket during this process and only learned about it later through relatives.
Ms. VNXT said that after extracting images from the security camera system, the supermarket determined that the boy did not steal the chocolate and let him go.
On her personal Facebook page, Ms. T. wrote: "Not a single apology... A child was treated like a criminal just because of suspicion." The post attracted comments, expressing frustration about the way suspicions towards minors were handled, especially the way they were handled when there were no parents or guardians around.
The People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat and the ward police force immediately received the information and clarified the incident.
A leader of the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat said that the ward representative contacted the family to visit, but the family thanked them and said they had to return to Ho Chi Minh City as planned.
