A group of five students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Phung Vo Duy Khang, Pham Thi Huong Giang, Nguyen Phung Thanh Ngan, Nguyen Cao Thien and Huynh Dong Ho, created and launched a detoxifying herbal tea.
The reason for choosing herbs as the research topic is because the group believes that tea is a medicinal herb that is familiar to most people, has many functions and applications in life.
Huong Giang said she couldn't remember how many times her research failed, ruined and had to start over again, and the research cycle continued for nearly a year. Just as she finished the formula, the Covid-19 pandemic hit, forcing the group of students to leave the lab and do research online at home.

According to Thanh Ngan, the detoxifying instant tea product is based on research on the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of five medicinal herbs: honeysuckle, dandelion, Xanthium, Smilax glabra, and Rehmannia glutinosa. From these medicinal herbs, the research team developed a process for making detoxifying instant tea. Before being put into research, the medicinal herbs were tested according to the standards of the Vietnamese Pharmacopoeia V and the results met the standards.
This instant detox tea also has the following uses: purifying the body, cooling the liver, detoxifying, treating acne, reducing inflammation, and fighting bacteria. In particular, the polyphenol compounds in tea have the effect of slowing down the oxidation process by free radicals in cells, reducing blood cholesterol, inhibiting the growth of cancer cells...
The process is carried out through the following steps: extracting the extract by hot extraction method, evaluating the content of extracted substances and evaluating the total polyphenol content of the extract at specified time points. Then, evaluate the acute toxicity and anti-inflammatory ability through NO inhibition of the total extract, prepare and test instant tea.
The project created and launched an excellent detoxifying herbal tea that won many awards at startup competitions. These include: first prize in the Student Startup Ideas Competition 2021; first prize in the Student Project Communication Competition with Startup Ideas - Innovation in 2021; third prize in the 1st Student Scientific Research Competition 2022.
