Recently, leaker Digital Chat Station revealed the launch time of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip.
Qualcomm is reportedly planning to release the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 earlier than usual in October next year. This is in line with the company's trend of moving up the date of its Snapdragon Summit, which is aimed at giving smartphone makers time to integrate the new chipset into high-end devices before the holiday season.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 is expected to use TSMC's N3P node - an advanced 3nm manufacturing process. This technology is designed to improve performance and energy efficiency, similar to Apple's A19 chip (which is also rumored to use this node).
The leak also shows notable upgrades to the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2's GPU and a 20% increase in CPU performance, providing a better user experience.
Previously, according to information from the Korean publication KiPost, Qualcomm may increase the price of Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in 2025. It is known that the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip was released at the end of October with a price increase of about 20-30% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
This leak may have some basis because according to Gizmochina, Qualcomm decided to increase the price of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip because the company is expected to improve SoC performance by 20% compared to the previous generation.
