Department of Tourism deploys tasks for 2024

On the morning of January 8, the Department of Tourism held a conference to review tourism work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024.

In 2023, the Department of Tourism focused on directing its departments and units to implement and complete tasks according to the plan. The Department successfully organized Ninh Binh Tourism Week, the International Scientific Conference "Identifying, preserving and promoting the value of traditional architectural houses in the World Heritage Site of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex", and launched the Smart Tourism software application.

Tourism management, inspection and examination work has been effectively carried out. The Department has coordinated with the Tourism Association to regularly urge and guide units to strictly implement measures to ensure security, order, environmental sanitation, focus on repairing and upgrading technical facilities, equipment and preparing human resources to serve tourists well. During the year, 4 specialized inspections were conducted on 9 tourist areas and spots; 44 accommodation establishments; 16 travel businesses. Thereby, 14 organizations and individuals were administratively sanctioned with a total fine of more than 40 million VND.

The work of planning and tourism development management continues to be maintained. The Department actively participates in giving opinions on construction investment projects, ensuring implementation according to plan such as: Trang An Eco-tourism Area infrastructure construction project and component projects; Bich Dong - Hang But and Thach Bich Thung Nang waterway dredging project.

In addition, information, promotion and support for tourists, especially on social networking platforms, are ensured regularly, effectively and promptly. Promotion work is strengthened, with many activities linking and cooperating to develop tourism with provinces and cities.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, the tourism industry has achieved many positive results in 2023. The whole province is estimated to welcome over 6.5 million visitors, an increase of 77% over the same period last year. Of which, domestic visitors welcomed over 6.1 million, international visitors welcomed over 450 thousand. Revenue is estimated at over 6,516 billion VND, 2 times higher than the same period in 2022.

In 2024, Ninh Binh tourism industry aims to welcome 7.5 million visitors, of which domestic visitors will welcome 6.6 million and international visitors will welcome 900,000; estimated revenue will reach 8,250 billion VND.

To successfully carry out the tasks in 2024, the industry continues to coordinate with units and localities to strengthen and innovate state management of tourism; direct tourism businesses to perform the task of both ensuring safety conditions for disease prevention and control, developing business activities, improving the quality of tourism services, encouraging organizations and individuals to invest in technical facilities for tourism; promoting domestic and international tourism promotion activities, etc.

Department of Tourism deploys tasks for 2024 — Leaders of the Department of Tourism awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with achievements contributing to the development of the tourism industry.

On this occasion, many collectives and individuals were honored to receive certificates of merit from all levels and sectors for their achievements and contributions to the development of the sector in 2023.
