What does the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training answer to students about school violence?

The Departmentof Education and Training (DoET) of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a document responding to the recommendations and proposals of children's delegates at the program "City leaders meet and listen to children's voices in 2023".

At the program "City leaders meet and listen to children's voices in 2023" held last May, one of the issues that many children delegates were interested in was school violence.

From there, the children's delegates recommended that the Department of Education and Training pay attention to training life skills, especially skills to prevent school violence for students.

Each student actively participates in activities organized by the school.

Regarding this content, according to the Department of Education and Training, the department has developed the content of career guidance experience activities according to the 2018 general education program and deployed it at 100% of educational institutions in the city; regularly disseminate to units about the work of preventing and combating school violence and violations of the law among students.

The Department of Education and Training has also strengthened the direction of the Departments of Education and Training and educational institutions in the city to implement the Project "Building a culture of behavior in schools for the period 2020 - 2025" and the work of building school culture. Educational institutions have strengthened the organization of building school culture for students through thematic activities, flag-raising activities, etc.

The Department of Education and Training also hopes that each student will actively participate in activities organized by the school; join hands with the school, teachers, and friends to build a school culture, build good friendships, speak good words, love, unite, know how to love those around them, live a cultured, civilized, and polite life when communicating with the other person and those around them.

Also at the program, many students commented that new textbooks have been issued, but because information technology is not yet guaranteed, teachers cannot answer all students' questions, making it difficult for them to keep up with the program.

Regarding this issue, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that the department has deployed instructions on implementing the general education program for the 2023-2024 school year since the beginning of the new school year. Through the deployment, the department directed schools to develop plans and organize teaching to ensure that it is suitable for the conditions of the school's teaching staff, facilities, and teaching equipment.

The city's Department of Education and Training noted that educational institutions should regularly promote innovation in activities and professional group meetings in schools, and discuss topics and lesson content to help teachers see the key knowledge that needs to be conveyed to students, contributing to improving the teaching quality of each unit.

Teachers always focus on innovating methods, techniques, organizational forms, and spaces for organizing teaching activities, flexibly using teaching equipment, combining direct teaching and online teaching to expand time and space for students to organize learning, helping students have more proactive and interested personal learning plans.

Schools implement learning management systems (LMS) and based on the facilities, classrooms, and information technology equipment of the schools to better organize learning activities for students.
