Department of Science and Technology organizes activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Postal industry

On the morning of August 15, the Department of Science and Technology organized meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Postal Industry's tradition (August 15, 1945 - August 15, 2025).

During the program, the delegation led by Comrade Bui Thanh Toan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Department, visited and congratulated postal and telecommunications units in the province (Post Office, VNPT and Viettel Post). Also participating were Comrade Ra Lan Truong Thanh Ha - Deputy Director of the Department and the Department Office.

At the destinations, leaders of the Department of Science and Technology presented flower baskets and souvenirs, sent congratulations to the staff and workers of the units, acknowledged and appreciated the important contributions of the Postal sector during the 80-year journey of construction and development; at the same time, wished to continue to strengthen coordination, promote strengths, apply scientific and technological advances , contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

Representatives of the provincial Post Office, VNPT Dak Lak and Viettel Post Dak Lak expressed their honor to receive the attention and encouragement on this important occasion; at the same time, they also shared the outstanding results in the past time along with some difficulties due to changes in the organizational model, limited telecommunications infrastructure in remote areas, affecting the implementation of some tasks. The units affirmed their desire to continue to be the "extended arm" of the government in implementing digital transformation tasks, from improving service quality, expanding infrastructure, to supporting people and businesses to access and apply new technologies, contributing to realizing the goal of building digital government, digital economy, and digital society in the province.

Along with the above activities, the delegation of the Department of Science and Technology led by Mr. Pham Gia Viet, Deputy Director of the Department, visited the Memorial of the Martyrs of the Central Highlands Postal and Communications Service at Ha Lan Pass, Dak Lak Province. The delegates offered incense and flowers, expressing their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of communications, contributing to the victory of the national liberation struggle.

The delegation burned incense to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial of the Central Highlands Post and Communications.

The above activities not only pay tribute to the traditions of the Postal, Science and Technology sectors but also serve as an opportunity to strengthen cooperative relationships, together aiming for the goals of innovation, digital transformation and sustainable development in the coming time.

Exactly 80 years ago, on August 15, 1945, the National Conference of the Indochinese Communist Party held in Tan Trao (Tuyen Quang) issued a Resolution, establishing the "Specialized Communications Committee", the predecessor of the Postal Service. During the resistance war for national construction, nearly 10,000 cadres and soldiers in postal and telecommunications services heroically fell for independence, freedom and to ensure that the flow of information of the Fatherland would never be interrupted. After reunification, the Postal Service entered the stage of restoration - construction - modernization. With the motto of going straight to modernity, skipping intermediate technology, opening up for integration, international connection, self-borrowing and self-paying, the postal and telecommunications infrastructure has become the infrastructure pillar of the renovation process, laying the foundation for Vietnam to enter the era of knowledge economy...
