On the morning of March 5, at the Center for High-tech Agriculture and Trade Promotion, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development launched the Tet Tree Planting Festival for the Year of the Dragon 2024. Attending the event were Mr. Vu Nam Tien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Responding to the Government's program of planting 1 billion trees in the 2021-2025 period and to concretize Plan No. 25 dated February 8, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee on planting trees in Ninh Binh province in the 2021-2025 period, Ninh Binh province has set a target for the 2021-2025 period, the whole province strives to plant over 5.5 million trees and over 200 hectares of forest.
In the 2021-2023 period, the whole province has strived to plant over 3.2 million trees and 1,137 hectares of concentrated forests (of which 195 hectares were newly planted as protective and special-use forests; 942 hectares were replanted as production forests after exploitation).
2024 is the fourth year of implementing the Government 's program of planting 1 billion trees and the Provincial People's Committee's Plan. In 2024, the whole province strives to plant 1.2 million new trees and over 350 hectares of forest. The Department of Agriculture is the unit assigned to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to effectively implement the plan of the Provincial People's Committee. After the launching ceremony, delegates planted trees in the campus of the High-tech Agriculture and Trade Promotion Center.
